Cooperation of Uzbek and Chinese artists
At the Central Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, within the program of Days of Chinese Culture was held the amicable meeting of the Uzbek and Chinese artists, devoted to prospects of bilateral cooperation. Vice - president of the Association of Artists of Chinese People's Republic Li Davei heading the delegation noted:
I consider it my great honor to become the fourth foreign representative awarded such prestigious award, as Gold Medal of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
Among its holder there are Guido Goldman (USA)
a scientist, patron of art, public figure, doctor of political science, director of the German Researches Center at the Harvard university, chief of some funds, programs and corporations, the author of famous album "IKAT: silks of Central Asia"; Ikuo Hiroyama (Japan)
a famous artist, scientist, traveler, public figure, president and rector of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, the honourable citizen of Tashkent; Arno D'Otoriv (France) - an artist, academician, regular secretary of the Academy of Fine Arts of France, director of C. Monet's museum.
Acquaintance with cultural heritage of your people and contemporary art of Uzbekistan has left deep impression in a heart of each person visiting your country. High professional level of their performance and originality of works testify that many from seen works present true masterpieces of art heritage of humanity, forming an integral part of the world cultural treasury.
The first meeting of Chairman of the Association of Artists of Uzbekistan, Tursunali Kuziev and the head of Association of Artists of Chinese People's Republic in Peking as well as the negotiations which were arranged within a program of the visit of the Chinese delegation, promote establishment of direct contacts between artists and their further development.
During our amicable meetings, we have discussed a huge circle of issues concerning Uzbek - Chinese cooperation in the field of fine arts.
The vernissage "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan" in Peking and the exhibition "Contemporary fine arts of China" held in June within the program of Days of Chinese Culture in Tashkent will stimulate further strengthening and development of our friendship and fruitful cultural contacts, creation of favorable conditions and kind relations with the Association of Artists of Uzbekistan.
I think, that forthcoming international Biennales, the second - in China and the third - in Uzbekistan in autumn 2005, should strengthen creative contacts of our artists and public.
The participants of the meeting pointed out importance of a proposal done by the Uzbek party: to arrange joint seminars with the Chinese art critics, which can give opportunity to discuss the processes running in the field of art in our countries and ways of development of Uzbek - Chinese cultural cooperation.
